ATLANTA – Variety Magazine named Steve Weizenecker, partner in Barnes & Thornburg’s Entertainment, Media and Sports Practice Group, to its 2018 Dealmakers Elite New York List, which honors executives and legal professionals on the East Coast who are involved in film, television, theatre, advertising and music-related transactions.
Weizenecker, who is based in the firm’s Atlanta office, was recognized for his extensive work on production incentive financing for music, film, TV and video game projects. He represents banks, media companies and production houses in connection with project financing and production deals.
Weizenecker was also recognized in Variety’s 2018 Legal Impact Report for his involvement in drafting the Georgia Music Investment Act, the state’s first-ever tax incentive specifically for the music industry.
